At Sheffield Cakes I will work closely with you to ensure that your cake is everything that you would like it to be – individually designed and decorated so that it is unique to you and of the very highest quality.
Wedding cakes can be single or multi-tiered in sizes, shapes, and fillings (fruit or sponge – various flavours) to suit your requirements. Your cake can be decorated traditionally in delicate effects and with flowers, and other decorating techniques incorporated in colour schemes to match your colour scheme for your big day.
OR you may like to be particularly different and go for something less traditional – possibly a fun cake like the VW Campervan wedding cake with the bride and groom ‘dressed’ to depict the colours and accessories that you will be wearing on the day! One couple even ordered a Duck Billed Platypus cake, apparently native to Australia from where one of the wedding partners came, and they were delighted with it! The choice is yours!
You will probably have your own ideas and pictures of cakes that you like….I am happy to work with those and also to share with you many photographs and ideas from my library of cake decorating books that might interest you or help to inform or personalise your own ideas.
Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to me and I am confident that you will not find equivalent quality at a more competitive price.
Please take a look at my gallery and do not hesitate to contact me with regard to your special cake requirements. I am happy to accommodate a meeting with you should you so wish, without obligation, either at my own house or to visit you, to discuss your requirements in detail.
The contemporary wedding cake has grown out of many traditions. One of the first traditions began in Ancient Rome where bread was broken over the bride’s head to bring good fortune to the couple. In Medieval England cakes were stacked as high as possible for the bride and groom to kiss over, if they successfully kissed over the stack they were guaranteed a prosperous life together. From this the Croquembouche
